The United Nations Liaison Office for Peace and Security in Brussels

The United Nations Liaison Office for Peace and Security (UNLOPS) represents the entities of the United Nations Secretariat in New York that support Member States and the Secretary-General in maintaining international peace and security: the Departments of Peace Operations (DPO), Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA), Operational Support (DOS) and the Office of Counter-Terrorism (OCT). UNLOPS was established in 2011 and is based in Brussels, Belgium.   

UNLOPS supports the partnership between the United Nations and the European Union (EU) and other Brussels-based organizations on peace and security matters across the spectrum from conflict prevention to crisis management, peace operations and counter-terrorism. UNLOPS contributes to strengthening institutional dialogue and improving coordination on policy and the planning and conduct of peace operations.
