Rory Keane, Head of Office

Rory has worked for several years on matters relating to foreign policy and peace and security with various organizations, including the OSCE, the OECD DAC, the EU and the United Nations. In addition to expertise on international relations, political analysis, peacekeeping, conflict prevention and international security policy, Rory has worked in and on post-conflict settings notably the Western Balkans, West Africa and the Sahel and Central Africa. Rory holds a PhD in international relations and a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellowship related to EU foreign and security policy.

 

Anne Viken, Deputy Head of Office/Political Affairs Officer

Since joining the United Nations in 2012, Anne has supported the UN Secretary-General’s engagements and good offices efforts on political files, UN peacekeeping and the work of the Security Council. In addition to political affairs, peace and security, she has experience in humanitarian affairs and human rights from roles at the Permanent Mission of Norway to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva and as Special Assistant to the President of the UN Human Rights Council. Anne holds an M.Phil in Justice and Transformation from the University of Cape Town.
